New Arrival: Paracombe Wines

As you may have noticed, we’ve been a little quiet during the first couple of months of the new year. This is because in January we travelled to Australia in search of new producers from different regions to offer you a more diverse range of fantastic wines.

Our trip was successful and we’ll be bringing on some exciting new products over the course of 2018. Without wanting to give too much away just yet, we can already tell you that our portfolio will grow to include wines from the cooler climate Yarra Valley and Mornington Peninsula regions in Victoria. The focus will be on Chardonnay and some other, maybe slightly more unusual, white varietals. However, before moving on to explore different styles across the land down under, we felt that our range of South Australian wines would not be complete without one special producer that we’re very fond of – not only because they make excellent wines, but also because this husband and wife duo are some of the most generous and warm-hearted people you could ever come across. And so we are proud and happy to announce that, as of the end of March 2018, we will be your exclusive merchant in Western Europe for Paracombe Premium Wines.

Managed from A-Z by Kathy, Paul and their family, every vine is hand-pruned and the wines are made, barrel stored, bottled and packaged on site. Their location in the Adelaide Hills not only offers some of the most spectacular views, but the respectable size of their vineyards also allows them to focus on a range of whites and reds alike, all sitting at a very reasonable price-point for the quality on offer. 2017 Paracombe Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc 19.90€

– 2017 was an excellent vintage for this clean wine, with delicate flavours and stone fruit complexity

2016 Paracombe Adelaide Hills Chardonnay 20.95€

– A limited release, modern Australian style Chardonnay with no oak treatment to express pure fruit character

2016 Paracombe Adelaide Hills Grüner V5 21.95€

– This is aromatic blend of 5 varieties (Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc and Gewürztraminer) is crisp, fresh and pure with hints of nutmeg, ginger and minerality

2012 Paracombe Adelaide Hills The Reuben 24.95€

– The award-winning Bordeaux-style red blend is long and finely structured on the palate, fruit-driven and displaying savoury and spicy notes
