Brendan and Laura are, as winemakers, very proud of the soil and produce they have in Australia. After studying the country's rich variety of native ingredients and seeking a way to showcase their findings to the world, they decided to launch Applewood Distillery.
We met with Brendan in Gumeracha at the beginning of 2018 and were amazed right away - not only by their stylish and cool distillery, but especially by the unique character of each of the spirits we tasted. The Applewood Gin was unlike any Gin we had tasted before: Ingredients such as desert lime, peppermint gum leaf and wild thyme reminded us of the purity of the Australian dry and dusty landscape. The Økar Amaro was an exciting and intriguing twist on a well-known classic. And the Espressocello: a brandy-based spirit that smelled and tasted of the most delicious freshly brewed coffee. It was a true delight for all our senses!
